1. Camelot [Blu-Ray Book] (1967)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Camelot came out during the era in which movie musicals waned, and it’s not hard to see why. Long, slow and not very effective, the film offers some lush visuals but lacks consistency or much to make it endearing. The Blu-ray comes with erratic but usually strong visuals and audio as well as a reasonably good roster of bonus materials. Fans of Camelot sh

2. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: Ultimate Edition (2002)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As for the DVD, both picture and sound quality seemed very solid. Neither reached demonstration level, but both satisfied nicely. Supplements offered a decent mix of interesting elements. I suspect that most fans will be happy with the prior DVD of Chamber, but Potter die-hards will want to snag the “Ultimate Edition”. At $39.92, it’s not horribly pricey

3. Orca: The Killer Whale (1977)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: No one will confuse Orca for a classic like Jaws, but the movie manages some entertainment of its own. It provides a surprisingly balanced tale without stark good and evil, and despite some cheesy elements, it fares better than I expected. Starring Richard Harris, Bo Derek. Paramount, $14.99, 9/14/2004.

4. The Haunting (1963)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A generally eerie and intriguing flick, The Haunting doesn’t quite seem like one of the all-time greats, but it works nicely overall. The movie benefits from tight pacing and a nice ambiguity that keeps us on the edge of our seats. Starring Claire Bloom, Julie Harris, Richard Johnson, Russ Tamblyn. Warner, $19.98, 8/5/2003.

5. East Of Eden [Blu-Ray Book] (1955)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: East of Eden would remain interesting simply for its historical value. Happily, despite some flaws, it offers a frequently compelling tale with a mix of positives highlighted by some strong performances. The Blu-ray delivers very good picture and audio along with a roster of supplements that works pretty well despite a lackluster audio commentary. I doub

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: East of Eden would remain interesting simply for its historical value. Happily, despite its flaws, it offers a frequently compelling tale with a mix of positives highlighted by some strong performances. The DVD presents pretty positive picture and audio along with a good set of extras. A solid DVD for a quality flick, Eden earns my recommendation. Starri

7. The Smurfs [Blu-Ray 3D] (2011)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: One of its summer’s moderate hits, The Smurfs delivers more entertainment than I anticipated. No, it’s not a classic – or even genuinely good, to be honest – but it keeps us reasonably amused much of the time. Starring Hank Azaria, Neil Patrick Harris. Sony, $19.99, 12/2/2011.

9. Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone [4K UHD] (2001)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone works reasonably well. I can’t call the flick a classic, but it provides a fair amount of enjoyment for what it does. Starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson. Warner, $41.99, 11/7/2017.
